The Irregular Code is our guiding framework
— a dynamic, living set of principles that shape everything we do. It’s not just a statement; it’s how we show up, how we act, and how we challenge the status quo.
We stand by our values through action, living by the code in every interaction, decision, and offer we make.
Irregular exists to help make the world we all need - a world of kindness, curiosity, equity, consent and connection. That requires change.
We don’t just talk about change; we make it happen.
The Irregular Code is the map we follow. It guides how we relate to each other, work, and exist as a community.
Practicing kindness, empathy, and compassion towards ourselves and each other as rebellious acts—especially in the face of injustice.
How we put it into action: Every interaction is rooted in unconditional positive regard for one another.
Embracing exploration and openness, acknowledging that there’s no 'one true way' to approach things, and that asking questions and taking risks helps us learn.
How we put it into action: We foster an environment where questions, challenges, and new ideas are met with open arms.
...and the world we all need
Consent is not a tickbox —it’s an ongoing practice for connection, using our agency, honouring our boundaries, respecting each other and being accountable.
How we put it into action: We prioritise mutual comfort and safety in every connection, from working together to sharing space.
Celebrating difference, embracing unconventional paths, and rejecting the idea that there is a “normal.”
How we put it into action: We commit to challenging systemic inequality and creating spaces where everyone belongs, no matter their identity or background.

CONSENT, COMMUNICATION & ACCOUNTABILITY
Radical Consent is the cornerstone of everything we do. We invite you to engage in authentic, intentional ways and ensure mutual respect in every interaction.
Control Over Communication: You are in control of how often you hear from us. Our emails allow you to choose your frequency (weekly, monthly) and the types of content you wish to receive.
Clear Opt-Out Options: If you’re not interested in specific offers or communication, you’ll find an easy way to opt-out. We want your inbox to reflect what’s useful to you.
Accountability and Feedback: We actively invite feedback and take it seriously. If we fall short of our values or you feel we’re not delivering, let us know. We’re here to learn and improve.
Engagement Guidelines: Whether you’re joining us on social media or in Zoom meetings, we provide guidance to create inclusive spaces where everyone feels heard and respected.
We will do our best to communicate in ways that are most comfortable for you, including providing a variety of content in writing, audio and video formats.
Integrity means listening and learning
We want to ensure we’re doing right by you.
"Consent is so much more than a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Consent is about how we connect, with ourselves, with each other, and with the world we make together. Consent is transformative."
Jenn Wilson
ACCESS - INCLUSION - SAFEGUARDING
Our commitment to inclusion and creating safer spaces means that we actively design our services and spaces to be accessible to as many people as possible, particularly those who are often marginalised.
Closed Captions and Transcripts: All video and audio content comes with captions and/or transcripts to ensure accessibility for hearing-impaired individuals.
Accessible Event Spaces: In-person events are held in wheelchair-accessible venues, and where possible, we provide sign language interpretation.
Neurodivergent-Friendly Approaches: We recognise that support is not one-size-fits-all, so we make efforts to tailor our services to meet the needs of people with a variety of different learning styles
Sensitive Content: We provide content warnings and age-suitability guidance for any sensitive or explicit material, and we welcome questions about the suitability of content for specific needs.
Pronoun Respect and Inclusivity: We actively invite people to share their pronouns if they wish to and encourage space for respect and learning around identities.
Zero Tolerance for Harm: We do not tolerate discrimination or harm in our spaces. If someone behaves in ways that harm others, they may be removed from our spaces or events.
Safer Spaces for Everyone
“Connection is a basic human need, like shelter, food and safety. We are social animals, driven by our need for belonging, love, connection. Practicing consent is how we form connections that work for everyone, where everyone feels secure and comfortable enough to continue."
– Jenn Wilson

...and the world we all need
"Think of a world shaped by connection – where everyone feels safe and has enough resources to live comfortably… where nobody is lonely and everyone feels they belong.
Imagine a future where everyone is OK.
This is the world I long for – and the focus of my life and
work is on exploring, shaping and constructing pathways towards it.
I am an activist for this imaginary future."

These policies on access, inclusion, equalities and diversity are live. (Additional details of which are in our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.) Policies are meaningless if they don't result in action - the IRREGULAR MANIFESTO shows you how we intend to put policy into practice. If we don't meet these standards, you are invited to question our integrity and hold us to account.

and the International Day of Consent
Like so many of us, I spent decades of my life trying to "fit in" with what was expected of me - with "normal" social standards. I wanted to make a success of my life, and I did OK - I juggled a career, a family, a home... but I was unfulfilled. I'd done what I thought I had to, not what I had chosen.
When I started questioning assumptions and doing what was right for me, I also began doing things that made a meaningful difference in the world and to the people around me.
I founded The International Day of Consent, a global day to focus on consent as the bold choice to show up for ourselves and each other - to challenge the inequalities and injustices we were taught to tolerate and to start shaping the world around our brilliant uniquenesses.
We'd love to see you in the Be More Irregular private Facebook group.
It's a friendly space to find connection and support, share updates and hang out online with other folks living life the Irregular way.
