The 20-minute guide to starting an (ethical) online business

You've seen people making money online, selling courses or memberships...

You wondered if maybe you could do that... and got stuck, because....

  • You're not sure if you have something to sell that anyone would want to buy

  • You thought, "Nope - making money means selling out" or "Business success means becoming everything I fight against."

  • You're put off by the technical 'how to' of running courses and membership and selling online

  • You're anxious at the thought of social media and being visible online

  • You are suspicious of unethical get-rich-quick / pyramid schemes

  • You're already feeling imposter syndrome, self-sabotage and doubt that you could do it

  • You feel like it's selfish to focus on your financial health, hopes and dreams when there's so much pain in the world

What if you CAN make money AND meaning?

  • Creating change includes creating sustainable ways to fund that change

  • Making money can be consensual, ethical, and aligned with your values

  • Building a purpose-led or people-focussed enterprise doesn't mean it can't be profitable

  • Your servitude and lack of resources isn't going to challenge a harmful system

  • Your knowledge, skills and experience can create recurring revenue AND recurring impact

"Making money whilst being fiercely yourself in a world that profits from your self doubt is a radical act of resistance."

Hi, I'm Jenn

I'm the founder of the International Day of Consent and IRREGULAR, and I'm on a mission to enable more of us to stop limiting ourselves to 'fit in' and start shaping the world around us so that everyone feels belonging.

I'm a creative, purpose-driven leader, mentor, and guide. As a coach I've supported many people to make important life choices and give themselves the permission and space to flourish. I have decades of experience running my own successful consultancy, audience development and fund-raising business in the culture sector, alongside performing professionally on stages and streets.

As a queer (I'm one of they/them), neurodivergent, activist, artist, entrepreneur and solo parent, I know what it's like to feel like an outsider, and to be over-achieving whilst under-resourced. I've learned how to thrive by unfollowing the rules have you limiting yourself to meet other people's expectations and assumptions.

I've done the work of learning the "regular" business methods and the tools that are working right now - online marketing, recurring revenue, audience growth - and I've applied my specialist knowledge, skills and values to transform them into something more radical, consensual and ethical.

Now I'm here to show you how to do the same, so you can shape the life you want and the world we all need.
