Giving and Receiving: The joys and challenges of asking for what you want

Consent pioneer and author of The Wheel of Consent, Dr Betty Martin shares the origins of the Wheel of Consent approach and its applications, not only as a practice for consent in physical touch - but also impacting in life and relationships. In conversation with Jenn, Betty shares some of her personal stories and explores the importance of clear communication, personal boundaries, and accountability.

Why ‘No means No’ isn’t enough: building true consent culture at home

Gentle parenting advocate Bigi Luetchford shares insight on how to raise kids who respect boundaries - not just because they’re told to, but because they truly understand their own.

They talk about consent culture at home, handling mistakes, creating real connection and trust, and making consent a natural, empowering part of family life.

Navigating Consent in Healthcare

Candy Elsbeth supports parents and pregnant people to navigate their pregnancy and postpartum journeys so that they can make the decisions that are right for them and their unique families. Her combination of professional expertise as a registered nurse and lived experience as a parent, provide insight and ideas to support advocating for yourself and your loved ones in health care settings and beyond.

Upwording: words change worlds

Co-founders of Upwording, Charles Lauder and Rivca Rubin invite us to evolutionise our thinking through everyday use of language. Upwording is a language-based practice that can help you identify the divisive and coercive phrases in daily communication and offer simple shifts to connect with people - whether family, friends, colleagues, clients, anyone we meet - in more egalitarian ways.

Charles supports individuals and teams to think differently, with a particular focus on diversity, equity and inclusion and on engaging young people in decision-making roles.
Rivca works as a catalyst of fresh approaches and advocate of liberation through communication, with leadership, artists and activists in the cultural, educational, business and non-governmental sectors in Europe and worldwide.

Neurodivergence, queerness and navigating life consensually

Coach, facilitator and speaker, Gem Kennedy talks with Jenn about the importance of being able to connect with our needs and advocate for ourselves and just how difficult that can be for neurodivergent folk. They also discuss the importance of informed consent, as well as queering and questioning social norms in order to live a life as aligned as possible.

Permission or Forgiveness: Challenging power, processing trauma, holding boundaries

Author of "Your Child is Not Broken: Parent your neurodivergent child without losing your marbles", Heidi Mavir works as a professional advocate and advisor for families fighting to secure suitable education for their children and young people. This conversation explores the ways we can use our own consent to tackle challenges with authority and how as a professional, Heidi maintains her own boundaries and well-being.

Peace-building and restorative justice:

Founder of the charity Building Bridges for Peace, Jo Berry shares her inspirational story of emerging from a profound personal tragedy to become a global advocate for reconciliation. In 1984, her father fell victim to an IRA bomb. Jo's journey led her to connect with the ex-combatant who planted the bomb, Patrick Magee. Their unprecedented relationship, documented in the BBC's "Facing the Enemy" and featured in films like "Beyond Right and Wrong" encapsulates Jo's belief in unbounded empathy as the key to transforming conflict.

Customers, clients, connection and consent

Keri Blue is a trans non-binary barber. Their own experience of discrimination when a barbershop said they weren’t insured to do Keri’s hair, inspired them to train at the London School of Barbering. They began 'Hair Has No Gender' (now AFFIRMATION=) during the pandemic, aiming to eradicate gender discrimination in the hair industry, and address the stigma that still comes with being trans. They now train gender inclusivity to hair and corporate industries.

Consent Culture, Rebellion and Activism

Consent culture activist and author Kitty Stryker reads an excerpt from her forthcoming book "Love Rebels, Radical Relationships for Radical Activists." She and Jenn discuss consent culture in activism, highlighting the need to respect boundaries and hold leadership accountable. This conversation explores navigating disagreements within activist communities, and offers insight from Kitty's experiences as a frontline activist, to support anyone facing the challenges of change-making.

Her programs teach business owners how to write highly-readable, story-driven emails that sell using consent based strategies.
